Valladolid

Valladolid is a hospitable city full of history that makes Yucatán proud. For centuries, it has been known for the richness of its Spanish heritage, evident in its temples and the nobility of its old neighborhoods. It has an exceptional colonial charm. Walking through its streets, with houses painted in bright colors, the neighborhoods with their churches, and of course the imposing convent of San Bernardino de Siena—a tangible mark of the Franciscan presence throughout the peninsula—is like stepping back in time. Its welcoming Main Park offers the shade of its laurels to locals and visitors alike, and in the evenings, birds fill the air with their songs, announcing the end of the day.

Valladolid is located 160 km to the east of the city of Mérida.
